Cloud Operations Network Engineer | Remote | £55,000+

Jonothan Bosworth | Recruitment Specialists is working with a growing UK-based Managed Services Provider looking to strengthen their Cloud & Network Operations team. If you're a confident, proactive engineer with a security-first mindset and strong Fortinet experience, this could be the next step for you.

The Role

This position sits at the heart of cloud infrastructure and networking. You'll design and implement changes across internal Azure environments and external customer solutions, all while ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and optimised.

From hands-on firewall configuration and firmware upgrades to ISO 27001 compliance checks and post-incident root cause analysis, this is a varied role for someone who thrives on ownership and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering changes to cloud and on-prem network environments

Escalation support for technical incidents across managed services

Security auditing, patching, and penetration test remediation

Documenting infrastructure changes and operational runbooks

On-call support (every other week) for network-related incidents

Visiting client sites or HQ (Surrey) as needed for projects or planning

Participating in change and incident management routines

What You’ll Need

5+ years in a hands-on network engineering role

Fortinet or Cisco certification (e.g. NSE or CCNA/CCNP)

Proven experience with Fortinet tools (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)

Knowledge of cloud environments (preferably Azure)

Experience with Firewalls, Switches, Wireless, and Network Design

Confident communicator with clear documentation habits

Security-aware and compliance-focused (ISO27001, patching, audit-ready)

Desirable:

Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)

Understanding of the full project lifecycle

Experience supporting Managed Services environments
